Hi guys! Since it’s Friday and we’ve all put in a hard week (fist pump), I thought I’d share an entertaining tip that’s so easy it requires almost no thinking at all. I’m going to show you how to tie napkins into bows, a trick that will look super casual and cute on your summer table. Are you in a supper… Read More
Happy November, you guys! And you know what that means, right? I’ve got Christmas on my mind! Canadian Tire has always been one of my favourite places to buy Christmas decor. If you’re Canadian, Canadian Tire needs no explanation. It’s about as Canadian as it gets. If you’re not Canadian, then you might be fooled by the name. Don’t be! Canadian… Read More
Yesterday, I was over on the Etsy.com blog, sharing a tutorial for an easy, diy hostess gift. As a huge Etsy fan myself, I was thrilled to be asked to be a part of their Etsy International DIY Advent Calendar Project! From December 1st to the 25th, Etsy is sharing festive new DIY projects on their International Blogs (UK, France, Germany and Australia). Contributed by guest bloggers from around the world as part of their DIY Advent Calendar series, each day a different project will be featured.
I was excited to use the opportunity to create a project that I’ve had in my head for awhile, a magnetic lampshade flower, as it would make an easy diy hostess gift during the holidays. Giving a handmade hostess gift is such a nice gesture during the holiday season. Many of us, however, are intimated by the idea of making something to give others. If that sounds like you, don’t worry. I promise that you will be able to make this!
Today I’m at the lifestyle site Live, Love Lux, sharing four easy wrapping tips for pretty holiday gifts, like how to get those ‘perfect’ corners and more!
If you have an 8-10 year old girl, then you probably know by now that they are all about having party theme ideas. This year, our little starlet decided on a Broadway themed birthday party as she loves anything to do with acting and performing.
The Broadway party theme idea was eventually broadened to include Hollywood because Hollywood party decorations were so much easier to find! To be honest, I couldn’t find much inspiration on the web for an Acting party theme so I ended up having to ‘diy’ (do-it-youself) a lot of the party decor. I thought I’d share some pics of the party decor I came up with for anybody thinking about having a similar kind of party!
For the highlight of the party, we decided on a photo booth with lots of fun Broadway / Hollywood photo props! After a bunch of research, I devised a plan to put one together on my own. I’ll talk about how to make a photo booth in my next blog post! It really wasn’t all that hard or expensive to make. The girls had a blast taking photos together.
Tonight I wanted to give you a peek at a pretty paper pennant garland that I made as a summer decoration for a little get-together we had at our home that involved copious amounts of lobster (mmmmm). First, though, can you believe that its going to be August in just a couple of days? I don’t know about you, but I feel… Read More
Happy 2012 everybody! I trust you rang in the new year in style? I don’t know about you, but our New Years Eve parties are a lot different now than they used to be! For starters, I now wear ballet flats instead of stilettos. 😉 Not to mention that getting “all dolled up” takes on a whole new meaning. The… Read More
(*Featured image credit to Good Housekeeping) We just entered the final 48 hour Christmas countdown in my time zone! Yes, people, there’s just 48 hours left before Santa enters our airspace. (Um, where did December go?) If you’re anything like me, you’re probably in that final 48 hour tailspin, right? I try to avoid it every year, but without… Read More
