Guys, guess what? It’s Spring! OK, OK. Cue the laughing machines. Because if you live anywhere like me, it doesn’t look anything remotely like Spring outside. But, I have faith that the remaining snow will melt soon. In the meantime, I’ve joined up with my favourite Canadian home bloggers once again to bring you the Canadian Bloggers Spring Home Tour…. Hello there, friends! Happy Fall! With colder weather ahead , I’m taking full advantage of any days that are still warm enough for painting outside. I’ve been painting up a storm over the past few weeks! Our entry doors needed some TLC, so I recently updated them with a pretty shade of blue called Behr Marquee Dayflower. Behr Marquee Dayflower, MQ3-54… Read More
Today I’m finally giving you a glimpse at how the twins ‘big boy bedroom’ turned out. No, I haven’t fallen in a deep dark hole or been abducted by aliens. (Although you might see an alien or two in the post – just sayin’.) But it’s been forever since I’ve been on a regular blogging schedule. Let’s just say there’s… Read More
Our basement guest bedroom needs a little makeover. (Gosh, I love when that happens!) In addition to making-over the boys’ bedroom (I’ll post on that room tomorrow), I’ve been thinking about how to create a pretty and soothing bedroom for guests. I’ve collected inspiration photos of rooms with blues and corals for awhile now, and the guest room makeover is giving… Read More
Bonjour friends! Well, if you’ve opened a decorating magazine in the past year, you’ve certainly noticed that graphic wallpaper is all the rage. Despite my past wallpaper aversion (created by our first fixer upper), I’ve been so wooed by these new wallpapers that I even decided to create a wallpaper accent in our master bedroom which I shared awhile back. (Picture posted below.) I absolutely love the visual interest and style statement that geometric wallpaper like this makes, but the best wallpaper for creating warmth doesn’t come in a bold pattern. Here’s a true fact that you might not know about me: I’m a chronic changer around-er. When it comes to home accessories, I’m always moving things!
I swear, if you were to visit me every month, our house would never be the same way twice.
I could be watching The Good Wife, and before I know it, my decorating subconscious has rearranged the room. By the end of the episode, I’ve already stolen the required lamp from the living room, and a mirror from the hall and I’m caught up in a twister of wall art and toss pillows. READ MORE
I don’t care a lot about blog ‘stats’ around here; and, it’s certainly not what motivates me to keep blogging. (I’ve written about this before over here.) However, I did notice something today which got me a little excited! Today my blog surpassed a million pageviews since moving over here from Blogger, and changing my blog name to A Pop of Pretty.
That’s like 7 whole digits worth of blog traffic, which is pretty darn cool. So as a thanks to YOU and YOU and YOU for visiting this little corner of the web, I’m going to celebrate this one million pageviews milestone by offering a little gift with no strings attached!
I recently created these two chalkboard-inspired “Good Morning” / “Good Night” prints for our master bedroom makeover.
I haven’t even blogged about them yet, and I didn’t create them with the intention of offering them as free printable art. But today I’m inspired to share! So here you go! As usual, just right click, save and print as you like! (If your printer prints to cardstock or photo paper, that’s what I’d recommend, but any paper will do.) READ MORE
Jewellery organization isn’t something I’ve ever been great at. I’ve never figured out how to organize jewellery in a way that makes it easy to find and wear. I think I had a jewellery box once upon a time, but it only fit a fraction of my stash of costume jewellery. So most of that stuff ended up in a tangled mess in a dresser drawer. You too?!? (Phew!)
I recently made it my mission to rescue all these neglected necklaces and bracelets, and give them new life!
