Frosty Blue Holiday Tablescape

This post was most recently updated on January 1st, 2020

Happy November, you guys! And you know what that means, right?  I’ve got Christmas on my mind!

Canadian Tire has always been one of my favourite places to buy Christmas decor.  If you’re Canadian, Canadian Tire needs no explanation. It’s about as Canadian as it gets.  If you’re not Canadian, then you might be fooled by the name.  Don’t be! Canadian Tire sells way more than tires. And, at this time of year, it’s Christmas aisles are pure eye candy for a Christmas decorating nerd like me!

Stockings, lantern, decorative ribbon and embellishments all from Canadian Tire.

Since I’m a big Canadian Tire fan, you can imagine how excited I was last year when Canadian Tire invited me to create a holiday tablescape using it’s Christmas decor for it’s online catalogue.  You can find that post here: Red & Aqua Cheerful Christmas Table {Canadian Tire}.

Well, this year I’m even more excited because Canadian Tire just launched it’s very own holiday line: Canadian Tire Canvas.

I was one of five lucky Canadian bloggers to give the Canadian Tire Canvas holiday line a test drive before the launch. The other talented bloggers included Jillian Harris of Jillian Harris Design (and HGTV’s Love It or List It Vancouver), Jo-Anna from A Pretty Life in the Suburbs, Tanya from Dans La Lake-house and Sarah Gunn from Yummy Mummy Club.

Since I was so inspired by last year’s tablescape project, I thought it might be fun to create another one for Canadian Tire Canvas using an entirely different colour palette – a frosty Winter Wonderland table using blue and white, with some hits of apple green.

This airy colour combination is fresh and casual, and is a great fit with the colours in my home.

I started with a white tablecloth and white dishes to create a perfect ‘canvas’ (excuse the pun) to really make the colours pop. If you don’t have white dishes, you should put them on your Christmas list!

For the centrepiece, I used a basic cedar wreath as the base.   To create the volume, I layered on frosty pine cones and sugared ball ornaments.

I loosely wrapped the centrepiece with blue and white gingham decorative fabric ribbon from Canadian Tire Canvas.   I wasn’t fussy about where it was placed in order to keep the look natural and relaxed.

You could easily create this centrepiece using any of the colours in the Canvas line. But, personally, I love how the cool hues and the frosty touches makes the whole look feel very ‘Winter Wonderland’.

In addition to creating the centrepiece from products in the Canvas line, I also placed a gift at each place setting that co-ordinated with the rest of the table.

This is a fun little touch that makes guests or family feel special, while making the table extra pretty.  To create a cohesive look, I used the same Canadian Tire Canvas decorative ribbon on each gift as I did on the centrepiece, and added a pine cone and sugared ball embellishment.

Using just a few products from the new Canadian Tire Canvas line, it was easy to create a pretty holiday tablescape with big impact.

I’ll be back again later in the week with tips on how to create a fun tree for your kids’ rooms using Canvas decor.

Until then,

K.
