Greetings earthlings!  Happy first of October to you!  I’m just popping in to share a fun Nature Walk printable that I made for my kids.

I’ve confessed before that I’m not really a summer girl. The whole idea of ‘enjoying’ time in the great outdoors in crazy humidity is totally lost on me. But in Fall, I enjoy being outside with our kiddies whenever we can.   They LOVE creating events out of simple things – and, what kid doesn’t?!? So I pulled together a Nature Walk printable to make an adventure out of our next Fall walk.

 

Our twins are still only pre-schoolers, so you’ll notice it’s simple and visual. At their age, just finding a pine cone and a red leaf could keep them challenged for an hour! So, are you a gardener?!? I have to admit that I have never really enjoyed gardening…until recently.

For the past couple of summers, it’s been close to impossible to spend time gardening.  With three kids in my shadow, attempting to create the backyard of my dreams was a completely futile exercise.  If I turned my back for a moment, I’d find our our twin babies  eating soil or picking flowers or toppling over. Not to mention, it’s kinda hard to have nice grass with a blow up pool, a bouncy castle and two dogs (RIP sweet Trinity xox). So I put up my white flag, and decided that blooming hydrangeas and weeping willows would have to wait (sigh).  Luckily, all that summer fun helped take my mind off the trampled grass and the lack of trees.

Every now and then, my impatience got the better of me (as it always does!), and we did manage to plant a couple of small Japanese maple trees, put a window box planter on the shed, and dig out a little shrub bed. How to Make a Photo Booth (Cheaply + Easily)

It’s been a crazy ride around here lately, but I finally had a chance to pull together a little tutorial on how to make a diy photo booth like the one at my daughter’s Broadway themed birthday party.

It was really quite easy and inexpensive, and Miss G was so happy with how it all turned out.

Photo booths are pretty trendy right now, so I knew I couldn’t be the only one crazy enough to think I could make one on my own! I did some research, and then came up with a plan for creating a diy photo booth that met our particular needs – i.e., one that could withstand the acrobatics of 10 tween-aged girls!

Here’s what I used (the important stuff, anyway):

.

  • Backdrop material: 3 cute plastic tablecloths from the Dollar Store!
  • Props: a basket of masks, mustaches, hats, etc.
  • Camera: my DSLR mounted on a tripod, with a shutter release remote.
  • Photo booth decor – string lights, cardboard chandelier, etc.
  • Poster board for the ‘Photo Booth Rules’
  • A bench
