I’m all fall-ed out. Just about over it. Been there, done that.
Seriously, people, bring on Christmas! Or, at the very least, Halloween.
I really need to learn to better pace my excitement about seasonal decorating. It happens to me every season. I go and get all ahead of myself and decorate too early; then by the time the season actually arrives, I’m on to the next. And so the cycle continues. So, basically, I figure I’m cheating myself out of a solid 4 months a year, lol.
And, of course, it doesn’t help that I’ve been seriously addicted to sleuthing out Fall decor ideas in the blogosphere for at least 3 months now. At last count, my ‘Pop of Fall’ folder on Pinterest had nearly 200 ideas in it. Can you say, overkill? (Is it possible for a Pinterest folder to explode?)
I figured it was a sure sign that I’d fallen out of love with Fall decorating when I visited HomeSense yesterday and saw a leafy garland and thought: “Why the heck is that still out?”
“Uh, well Little-Miss-decorate-for-Fall-in August” (says little voice in head that I hear way to often) “perhaps it’s probably because the rest of the world is just now packing away their inflatable pools.”
I did add some more pumpkins to my front porch the other day (will post some photos), but now I am itching to have my Halloween way with them. My plan is to have my 7-year old hide the carving tool until at least Oct.1oth! That way, I’ll keep my Fall decor around until (Canadian) Thanksgiving.
So are you a decor nut like me and have already started to tire of your Fall decor too?
Well, if so, you might enjoy some totally-random-non-Fall-decor photos that have inspired me lately!

First of all, could this roman shade be any cuter? It’s inspiring me to do something similar with the shade in my kids’ ‘rubber ducky’ bathroom. Well, except not with the word eat ;-). Maybe ‘bath’ or ‘scrub’. I feel a project coming on!

And how about this stunning kitchen? I love everything about it, but especially the concept of a round center island – it’s so inviting. And those slip-covered chairs are perfection. I could sleep here.

I’m not usually an orange-girl, but I am digging the colour combination and eclectic feel of this stunning bedroom.

And this one, with it’s more soothing tones. I love how the airy white cotton bedding is mixed with the smokey grey-taupe velvet bolster pillows and tailored velvet bed skirt for a pop of warmth. Very romantic.

And, have I mentioned that I am totally having a globe collection someday? Not sure why they speak to me, but they do, and let’s just say I am hearing “take us home, take us home…” 😉

And, I seriously want that French-scripted rug. Can you say, statement rug?

And check out this whimsical idea for drying clothes in a laundry room. Gotta love when something is practical AND pretty.

Well, that’s it for now. Hope you’re feeling all re-energized to get back out there and take in some more Fall loveliness!
