I’m totally gaga over alphabet walls these days.
Who knew the alphabet could be so chic? I mean, what’s more basic than the alphabet? Yet, when mounted on a wall, it makes such a big statement.
Just look at this happy wall. You can’t help but smile.
What is is about the alphabet, anyway, that evokes such a happy response?
Perhaps our subconscious recalls the time in our life when the alphabet reigned supreme: those glorious Kindergarten days when life was all about the play-doh and the jello and the the sandbox.
And can somebody tell me where I can buy an R like that?!? Except maybe Sesame Street? It’s not like you can just walk into Walmart and walk away with letters like these. They were likely collected over time, and then artfully mixed for a perfectly eclectic look.
The collection of letters in this next one is just awesome. I LOVE how the globe and the float were substituted for letters. It has such a crisp, nautical feel. And when you think about it, you could substitute just about any letter with one of your favorite items, or an accessory that ties your room together – the options are limitless!
This one is no less stunning. The mix of quirky letters is adorable, especially substituting the ruler for the letter I.
Here it is again in the context of its room…
This one has the same kind of quirky appeal with a cute button substituted for the letter O.
Not all alphabet walls have to have this kind of quirky charm to work well.
Check out these more polished looks, using more monochromatic themes.
